    It was in a central setting to the Taupo centre. And it was also so close to the lake, close to town, the waterfront / boardwalk, and bars on the waterfront.

    the room was beautiful and exceptional with an exceptionally good view of the lake. a microwave oven and an electric hob were a huge plus. the hotel had a stunning and super position, on the lake front.

    Really good hosts elevate the experience

    Sharon and Rob's warm welcome. Our spacious room overlooked the lake, while the inviting pool was perfect for unwinding after exploring. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, including a lovely tip from Sharon about a local hike, which we thoroughly enjoyed.

    My favourite property in Taupo. Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean place with outstandingly accommodating staff from check-in to check-out. Amazing good location, to town along the lake front.

    well-appointed kitchenette, easy bike hire access, direct lake access

    Appalling noise from nearby stair access and ongoing toilet use ruined the night!!! A more proactive management approach would be appreciated to address amenities like TV functionality!!!

    That hotel was in a beautiful location, to all the restaurants etc. Besides, it was really close to a great cafe for breakfast with excellent coffee and lovely views and the centre of Taupo and the lake front.

    The bed was a bit hard, that's my bad luck.

    Quick review for busy people

    Perfect for families! Enjoyed a lovely stay in a spacious ground floor room, just steps from the warm pool. The separate ensuite bathroom was a gem, especially with kids. Great access to the lakeside path and a nice, clean environment. We were welcomed by friendly staff.

    Initial reaction on booking in was friendliness of Mein Host - Good relaxed hosts - very handy location to Taupo Race track & tourist spots. Great comfy bed... cheers

    could be a problem for some clients to park their car..esp on the slope...my confusion over payment (or not) online - wasn't sure which credit card paid for what. (don't book online very often so did scratch head...but people at Reef sorted quick & no problem).
